8” Chef’s Knife

Built to be the one knife you reach for every time.

This 8” Chef’s Knife is designed for control, balance, and durability across everything from fine prep to heavy kitchen work. Whether you're breaking down proteins, slicing vegetables, or working through a full meal, it carries the edge, feel, and reliability you expect from a knife that’s meant to be used daily.

Each handle is made from natural burl wood. Grain, color, and figure will vary. No two are the same.

The profile gives you a smooth rocking motion while still allowing precise tip work. The handle is shaped for a secure, natural grip that stays comfortable through long sessions at the board.

This is not a showpiece. It’s a working knife built to earn its place in your kitchen.

Earned At The Bench

Knives started the way most things worth keeping do; quietly, at a workbench, with no audience. More than 25 years of building, failing, and refining has gone into every design decision we make. The craft has been passed down, not handed off, and that difference shows up in every blade we ship.

Care & Maintenance

Rucker knives are built for real use and will show honest wear over time.

For Cerakote-finished models, surface wear and scuffing is cosmetic. It doesn't affect the blade or edge performance. What does matter is keeping the blade clean, dry, and sharp. A well-maintained knife will perform the same in year five as it did on day one.

To care for your knife

  • Wipe the blade clean and dry it thoroughly after every use. Especially after exposure to moisture, blood, or acidic materials. Apply a light coat of oil periodically to protect against rust and corrosion.
  • Sharpen regularly using a quality stone or strop; AEB-L and Magnacut steels sharpen predictably and respond well to consistent maintenance.
  • Avoid leaving the blade in a wet sheath, soaking it in water, or storing it in humid conditions for extended periods.
  • If the edge needs more than a touch-up, send it back to us — that's what the Lifetime Guarantee is for.
Tier 1 Guarantee

A Rucker knife is a lifetime tool, and we back it that way.
Every blade we make is covered by our Lifetime Guarantee — free sharpening,
inspection, and repair for as long as you own it.

Coverage

The Rucker Lifetime Guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship, edge performance, and structural integrity under normal use. If your blade has lost its edge, developed a defect, or needs restoration, we'll inspect, sharpen, and repair it at no charge. This guarantee is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.

Exclusions

This guarantee does not cover damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or modification. Excluded conditions include broken tips from prying or impact use, chips or damage from improper sharpening technique, corrosion resulting from improper storage or neglect, and handles damaged by prolonged exposure to chemicals or extreme conditions. Normal field wear, surface patina, and Cerakote scuffing are expected and are not covered under warranty claims, they are a sign of a knife being used the way it was intended.

securely and do not ship a blade without its sheath or protective wrapping.

Turnaround

We process warranty and sharpening requests in the order they are received. Current estimated turnaround is 2-3 weeks from receipt of
the knife. We'll notify you when your knife ships back. During peak periods,
turnaround may be longer but we'll communicate any delays directly.

BUILT WITH INTENTION

Every detail is earned, not assumed

From steel selection to heat treat to final inspection, every Rucker knife passes through hands that know what real use demands. We don't build to a price point. We build to a standard.

THREE GENERATIONS DEEP

This craft has been passed down, not figured out

Rucker Knives started at a workbench more than 25 years ago, and the craft has been passed down ever since. What we know about steel, heat treat, and real-world performance wasn't learned from a manual.

It was earned through years of building, testing, and refining. That lineage shows up in every knife we make.
